I'm back in more ways than one. I haven't updated the site for a while and I apologize. I have gotten a few comments asking about what's going on. So I am back online. I should start by mentioning that I have been named to this seasons Canadian Development Team. I keep forgetting to mention that here. Based on last seasons results I have made the team and that means I get funding from Sport Canada and Speed Skating Canada to help me compete at my best this season. Plus I get to wear the Canadian Team gear this season, which is pretty cool too.  ... (more)

... One of the most exciting rides we did in Tucson was a 45km climb of Mt Lemmon, I suspect that a 45km climb would be difficult no matter what kind of shape you are in. I had no idea what to expect, I have done a climb that lasted 55 minutes before but never something measured in hours. ... (more) 

 

Calgary Oval Funding Crisis

Skaters at the Calgary oval are nervous these days. The oval is cutting costs, laying off employees and coming up with contingency plans to deal with a funding short fall. In the news today I read that one such plan is to reduce the amount of time they have ice. Instead of July to March they would have ice from September to January. In short the Oval is in trouble! ...
